Droopy & Browns Huge Puff Sleeve Fine Wool Dress, 1980s

An incredible vintage womens maxi dress from the 80s by luxury British fashion designer, Angela Holmes for her Droopy & Browns label. Founded in 1972,in the English city of York, Droopy & Brown's designs were as historical as the city itself - often taking influences from an Edwardian puff sleeve blouse or a 1940s day dress - but always adding a bold, more modern twist with her penchant for vibrantly patterned fabrics and colour.

This dress is a great example of Angela Holmes' aesthetic, in yards of fine wool fabric with a vivid arts & crafts style pattern throughout. The cut is similarly dramatic with its huge, gigot style sleeves that puff out at the top and have a more fitted, turnback cuff and its high neck that can be folded down into a peter pan style collar.

Size: Marked vintage 12 but measures roughly like a modern womens UK 10/ US 6/ EU 38. Please check the measurements.

Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition - No noticeable stains, tears or holes. Tiny pinhole to back as pictured - only seen on very close inspection.
