Emanuel Ungaro Vintage Green Silk Satin Ruched Dress, 1980s
Emanuel Ungaro Vintage Green Silk Satin Ruched Dress, 1980s
An ultra glamorous vintage womens evening dress from the 80s by luxury French fashion designer, Emanuel Ungaro. Made in Italy, from a green silk satin with one of Ungaro's bold Asian inspired floral prints throughout. Emanuel Ungaro is one of the most renowned designers of the late 20th Century, after working for Balenciaga and Courreges and opening his fashion house in 1965. The signature style he is best remembered for however, was best developed in the 80s and 90s, with a focus on soft, feminine draping or ruching in bold jewel tone colours or vibrant floral printed silks.
This dress is a great example, with its ruched side that lets soft pleats drape round the body like a waterfall and its subtly gigot shaped sleeves that puff out at the shoulder and taper in towards the wrist.
