Mens Vintage Modular 2 Piece Corduroy Coat, 1990s
An absolutely incredible and rare vintage brown corduroy coat from the 90s by trailblazing black fashion designer, Joe Casely-Hayford. Consisting of two pieces, a long sleeveless overcoat and a long sleeved intricately quilted jacket which combine to give a hunting jacket inspired coat.
Joe Casely-Hayford founded his label in 1984 and was one of the most decorated British fashion designers, earning an OBE from the Queen in 2007 for his services to the fashion industry and in 2008 being named the most influential black family in the UK. Like this coat his designs are often very British and experimental with a focus on fabric and contstruction. It is no surprise then, that icons as varied as The Clash, Lou Reed, Drake and Benedict Cumberbatch. He also became creative director of Savile Row tailors Gieves & Hawkes in 2005.
