Demi-Couture Folk Three Piece Ensemble, 1970s
An absolutely incredible vintage blouse, skirt, vest and belt set from c.1976 by legendary vintage designer label, Bellville Sassoon. Obviously very inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's infamous Russian collection. The Bellville Sassoon collection that this piece came from was featured in Vogue, March 1976 photographed by the genius David Bailey.
This demi-couture piece is of immense quality with a hand set zipper and opulent, intricate silk embroidery inspired by Indian and Russian designs and hand stitched boning in the belt to give that couture, tailored silhouette. Excessively vibrant, this is the dress that a true bohemian woman would fall in love with, the musical sound of the medallions on laces compliment the movement of the chiffon blouse to create an outfit that almost feels alive.
