Tapestry Brocade Blazer, 1960s
The ultimate holy grail for the modern dandy, this incredible jacket is by legendary French haute couturier Maggy Rouff of Paris, for her extremely rare Pret-a-Porter menswear collection - one of her last before she passed away in 1971. As you would expect from a French couture house, the tailoring is immaculate, in a bold tapestry brocade fabric that still manages to retain a sophistication and sartorial elegance. Similar to styles being produced by the likes of Granny Takes a Trip and other Carnaby Street boutiques during the late 60s but of a much higher quality and even rarer. Truly a museum worthy piece of fashion history.
