Red and Black Wool Checked Coat, 1960s
An elegant vintage women's coat from the 1960s by collectible British designer, Jaeger. In a red and black checked buffalo plaid, with a statement, wide puritan collar. The coat fastens at the neck with a single button and is cut outwards in an open swing-style, when worn with the matching suede belt it transforms the silhouette, pulling in the waist and making the fullness at the hips gather into a skirt - similar to that of an Edwardian/ 40s style frock or riding coat. This 1940's inspiration is furthered by the large, structured cuffs.
