Pierre Balmain

A rare 1960s vintage Pierre Balmain Haute Couture rainbow striped jacket. This coat is true haute couture, a numbered piece that was made entirely by hand in Balmain's atelier. In a vibrant pink linen with multicolored vertical stripes down the sides and back that contrast with the horizontal stripes on the sleeves. The stripes are broken up at the front with pink flap pockets. The cut looks simple and fuss free with a straight down silhouette and wide 3/4 length sleeves that give an almost Kimono inspired touch but it is more complex than it seems with a sleeve that is somewhere between a set in sleeve and a raglan sleeve and a more unusual collar. Perfect for spring and summer.
